Guest designing @ Words to craft by challenge

Hi there!

So happy you are joining me as I share my guest design for the Words to Craft By challenge. Many thanks to Sybrina and the DT members at Words to Craft by for having me over.

What an amazing quote for inspiration:

Listen!
The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves.

To make this card I inked the panel using a stencil by newton’s nook and distress inks.

I then tied a bow to the inked panel before adhering it to a card base.

For sentiment I used the thankful word die by Simon Says Stamp . I die cut the word in golden n the shadow in black. To finish the card I added a few sequin.

I hope my card inspires you to play along this wonderful challenge at ‘Words to craft by’. Join us and share your take!

Do tell me what you think about my card in the comments section. I love to read your views and highly appreciate them.

I am also playing along with the following challenges:

Hi There!

I am so happy you are joining me. I have a fall card to share with you today.

I first inked the panel with distress inks using the leaves stencil by Newton’s Nook and then added the word die cut by simon says stamp in black card stock.

I added some glossy accents on the die cut and some sequins before placing the card front on to a base.

Guest Design Paru’s Card Making Challenge – Flowers

Hello There,

flower

I am very excited and greatly honored to play along with  Paru’s Card Making Challenge as Guest Designer for the month of April with Flower challenge  to welcome spring. Many thanks to Ms. Paru  for having me over.

I have two projects that i want to share with you all – a spring flower theme card & a floral thank you tag.

1st Project :

Bharati nayudu thankyou card with flowers.jpg

My first project is a card inspired by my dear friend Sanjeevini, who has a very happy and cheerful personality and who loves flowers and bursts of colors.

To make this card I started with heat embossing, in white, the flowers and leaves from the stamp set ‘More spring flowers’ by Simon Says Stamp. I then added distress ink to each image using finger dabbers and fussy cut them. While adding the ink, mixing two of more colors to get a gradient look always works. I then took another white card piece and heat embossed the sentiment in white before ink blending the panel. The white heat embossed sentiment goes with the white outline and the dash line on the images. I then die cut a rectangular white card panel and then cut a oval window through it. I then adhered the leaves and flowers on the white window panel with tape. I also used foam squares in few places for dimension. I then adhered the window panel with the images using foam tape on to the ink blended card stock with the sentiment. I finished the card by adding a few sequen and adhering the whole card front to a deep green card base.

Apart from the colourful look  I love how a portion of the leaves is inside the window and few leave pop out of the card from the top and bottom of the card.

2nd Project :

Bharati nayudu thankyou tag with flowers.jpg

I really had a ton of fun making my second project which is a thank you tag.

I started with smooshing distress oxide inks on my craft mat and spraying some water. I then pressed my tag onto the ink. I repeated this process several times till I was happy with the results. Building layers of colour each time by adding ink, splattering water and drying between the layers. I then added interest by stamping some scripty font in black ink and the stamp i used is by Hero Arts and its called ‘Old French writing’. To add more interest i stamped randomly pattern from Bo Bunny’s  rough-it-up stamp set using spiced marmalade distress ink. I also added an image of a swirly ribbon in black ink from Inbetweenies stamp set by  Dyan Reaveley’s Dylusions. To add some texture to the tag i applied some embossing paste using a stencil by Tim Holtz. I was gifting a pack of beautiful flowers by Prima that I was hording since long and finally found place this tag. Before adhering the  flowers and the word die cut in black by Mudra Stamps, i did add few splatters of black ink with a thin brush. Then all that was left to do was to tie a white ribbon on the tag.

As you  can see I played with a lot of crafty goodies while making this tag and therefore enjoyed the whole process.

The theme for the month – Flowers has many beautiful possibilities and I hope my projects inspire you to play along at Paru’s Card Making Challenge. Thank you Ms. Paru for the wonderful opportunity!

May your spring be filled with colorful flowers and crafts.

A big hello

IMG-20171205-WA0019

Hi there,

Today I am sharing a card that I made inspired by the sketch at CAS Color and Sketch challenge #251, colors at Color Throw Down Challenge #471, Embossing technique at Crafters Cafe Blog Challenge #186

Picture1.png

I am really happy how the black border around the die cut n in laid ‘Hello’ word looks between the two gold heat embossed panels. The foam under the die cut ‘Hello’ word adds more interest.

I really enjoyed planing the inlay design and the die cutting for this card. Hope you like it too.

Case-ing Michelle Lupton

I have always admired Michelle Lupton’s cards. She does magic with rainbow colors and the simplicity of her cards is stunning.

CAS-ual Friday is having case a girl challenge and I wanted to let Michelle know how much I love her work by case-ing her card.

For my card I heat embossed with white embossing powder a backgound stamp from My Favorite Things on a water color card stock. I always love how Michelle uses rainbow colors and so I went for it. I absolutely love how she uses White space to balance the card and keep it simple. While case-ing her card, I learnt to do the same. Since my background panel already has more colors I decided to use white n black for the sentiment. To finish the card I used sequins just they way Michelle does.

I really enjoyed playing along with this challenge.

Have a nice day!

Education

The cue card for the current Challenge @ CASology is “Education” and that’s the inspiration for this card dedicated to you all

I have had no formal education in art or anything remotely related to art. Everything that I do is learnt from crafters n artist online n I am so thankful for all the education.

I am thankful to all the Crafters, Artist, crafting strores + companies, IG friends, Bloggers, challenge hosts, You Tubers and Pinteresters around the world who have educated me in this lovely art form.

Love you all. 💖😍

Special mention to the super talented and kind hearted Jennifer McGuire, who has a true inspiration.

Thanks so much for dropping by.

Have a great day!

You Amaze Me

I got my hands today on the maze element by My Favorite Things n I just had to use it. To my good luck the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #304 seemed a perfect fit, which also is a CAS challenge.

Earlier I used to struggle with leaving white spaces on my cards. But now I seemed to have fallen completely in love with CAS n white.

I had fun making this card and I hope you like it.

Do let me know by leaving me your comments.

Have a great day!

Up Up and Away!

Playing along with CAS Color and Sketch challenge #239

I have fallen in love with dimension on cards n I am trying to incorporate the same in my cards.

I staked up n stuck the word die cut on top of one another n used foam squares Under the balloon element.

The colors are inspired by the CAS Colour and Sketch challenge #239

This card is perfect for cheering someone on promotion or success, so I am also playing along with card in envy challenge – Cheer

Thanks so much for dropping by and hope you liked my card. Do let me know through the comments

Have a great day!

I Believe in Glitter

Yup! I completely believe in glitter. There’s something magical about sparkle that instantly brings a smile on my face.

Today I am sharing a card that has all my favorites in it. My fav stencil, My fav word die n my all time fav – glitter (in mess free form of glimmer paste).

I have picked the sketch from Case this sketch challenge #238 and the colors from the color throwdown challenge #459.

I am also playing along the anything goes challenge at happy little stampers

Loved making this card. Do let me know what you think about it by leaving your comments below. Thank you.
