When we think of Christmas the colors that pop into our minds are Red , Green and Gold – perfect complementary colors. Wouldn’t we love if we could achieve completely different styles and looks of cards with a single stamp set using these colors.
Today i am sharing Christmas cards using Ferns & Leaves stamp set by Mudra Stamps.
Card # 1
This one is for those who love inky fingers and burst of vibrant colors.
I inked the card base with shades of green distress oxide inks after masking the edges and sprinkled little water to lift a bit of the color. I then gold heat embossed images of Fern & Leaves stamp set by Mudra Stamps. I peeled the masking tape to reveal the crisp white border.
For the tag I took a smaller card stock and rounded off the corners before heat embossing the edges with silver. I then inked the tag with shades of red using distress oxide inks. The beautiful sentiment that i heat embossed with black is from penny black stamps. For added interest I fixed an eyelet before threading the twine through it and adhered gold sequins.
To finish the card i added the tag on the card with foam tape.
Card # 2
This clean and simple card is made with a dash of same Red , Green and Gold colors but in a completely different look.
I started out by stamping the leaf stamp from the same stampset in a circle with green distress oxide ink to form the Christmas wreath. to finish the wreath, i added enamel dots and a tiny bow made of twine. The sentiment in center of the circle is from penny black stamps and is heat embossed in gold. Before i adhered the panel to a gold card base, i added golden twine under the wreath.
