Guest designing @ Words to craft by challenge

Hi there!

So happy you are joining me as I share my guest design for the Words to Craft By challenge. Many thanks to Sybrina and the DT members at Words to Craft by for having me over.

What an amazing quote for inspiration:

Listen!
The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves.

To make this card I inked the panel using a stencil by newton’s nook and distress inks.

I then tied a bow to the inked panel before adhering it to a card base.

For sentiment I used the thankful word die by Simon Says Stamp . I die cut the word in golden n the shadow in black. To finish the card I added a few sequin.

I hope my card inspires you to play along this wonderful challenge at ‘Words to craft by’. Join us and share your take!

I wanted to create a card to inspire numerous ways for interpretation and a lot of opportunities for different takes on the card.

Here’s how i made the card:

bharati nayudu MFT Hedgehogs copic colors rainbow stencil background handmade card 3.JPGFor my card I first stamped these adorable images hedgehogs and the log from the ‘Happy Hedgehogs’ stampset by MFT on to nenah solar white card stock (Copic friendly paper) with black memento ink (Copic friendly ink) and colored with copics (you may use any alcohol markers). I then fussy cut the images with a scissors. I also heat embossed, the punny sentiment from the same stamp set, with white embossing powder on the image of the log.

Next, I took white Bristol Strathmore card stock (this is card stock is excellent for ink blending and water colors) in standard size (A2). I then placed the ‘Star Grid’ stencil by MFT on the card front and inked the panel with distress inks in lovely rainbow colors. I will be honest here, i really wanted to ink blend only in the central part and let it fade it into white towards the outside edges.  But, once is started ink blending I just couldn’t stop my self and covered the whole paper. Lol!!! Oh! inking is so therapeutic, isn’t it.

I finally adhered the colored images with foam squared on to the inked panel. As a finishing touch I added a few Nuvo Clear drops and a stripe of black and white patter paper. I then adhered the whole panel to a white card base.

‘Work’ – Guest Designer at Inkspirational

Hi there,

I am very excited and greatly honored to be playing along as Guest Designer at Inkspirational Challenges where the cue word this time is – Work. The various challenges at  Inkspirational are always fun & stimulating, and their DT creations are absolutely inspiring.

I am an HR professional at a Steel Plant and i love giving handmade cards at work. So, here ‘s my take on the word prompt challenge – “WORK”.

bharati nayudu work business card.jpg

To make this card, I first masked the edges with painter’s tape and then inked the  card front with distress oxide inks using a stencil. I then added a few splatters in black for added interest on the background. After i stamped the images from ‘MFT – Get down to business’ stampset with momento black ink, i colored the images with copic markers. The all that was left was to adhere all the images and the sentiment on to the inked background. Some of the images are adhere on to the card front while a few have been adhered with foam tape for dimension. I then adhered the card front to a black card base to form a frame all around the card.

I have made this card for my husband who recently was recognized with an award for his outstanding and dedicated contributions in his work.

I hope my card inspires you to play along Inkspirational Challenges and gets you crafting to spread handmade happiness around. Do visit Inkspirational Challenges for more inspiration from the super talented Design Team. Many thanks to the lovely ladies at Inkspirational for having me.

Hope you liked my card. Do let me know by leaving me comments. I really love reading them.
